Energy Research Capital
Energy Research Capital (ERC) is a fund established within the BRIdge Alfa program with a PGE Ventures’ support. The fund focuses on areas where its team and cooperating experts have an experience in making investments, capital acquisition and business development. There are three key investment areas of the fund’s interest: solutions for the energy sector, IoT (Internet of Things), and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). The fund intends to verify and analyze in detail more than 50 projects. Main goal of the fund is to invest in nearly 20 precisely selected companies.
ERC is managed by a team of experts with many years of experience in: commercializing R&D projects, technology transfer, capital markets and studying patentability of technological solutions.

Tomasz Ferenz – Investment Director, CEO of ERC
Expert in technology transfer and scientific solutions’ commercialization. An employer of Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research of Polish Academy of Sciences responsible for the business preparation of technologies for commercialization. Tomasz established and now manages the CTT INTech company which coordinates commercialization processes in the Institute. He was responsible for the Institute’s exit from the investment through the sale of shares. He is a member of the management board of the spin-off companies (Carbonmed, Nanoadvancedtech) where he is responsible for acquiring external funding and business development of technologies.

Sebastian Kwiecień – Chairman of the Investment Committee, Investment Director, Member of the Management Board of ERC
Co-founder of the venture capital fund which specializes in IT, ICT, and new media. Business expert with 3-year experience in cooperation with National Centre for Research and Development within projects evaluation. Sebastian specializes in acquiring funding and coordinating exits from the investments.

Robert Karbowiak – Investment Director, Member of the Management Board of ERC
Robert has professional experience in business preparation of companies planning to enter the NewConnect market. He also specializes in acquiring private capital for the emerging enterprises. He leads trainings within business modeling based on the Customer Development methodology. He is certified Alternative Trading System Adviser.

- verification of projects which do not meet investment criteria of PGE Ventures,
- PGE Ventures’ follow-on investments in adequate ERC’s projects,
- use of the PGE Ventures’ pool of experts,
- use of scouts that cooperate with PGE Ventures,
- use of the PGE's infrastructure.
